Getting to Holmes Beach

For those traveling by car, it’s pretty easy to get into Holmes Beach. There’s only a few roads that come over from the mainland into Anna Maria Island. Manatee Avenue (Rte 64) comes across the Anna Maria Island Bridge right into the town of Holmes Beach.
From the town of Cortez on the mainland, cross into Bradenton Beach over the Cortez Bridge. This is just south of Holmes Beach. All you need to do is proceed to Gulf Drive and head right (North).
From the Sarasota beaches, take the Longboat Pass Bridge from Longboat Key. This brings you in at the very southern tip of the island and you pass by several of the bigger southern beaches like Coquina Beach and Cortez Beach. You just come over the bridge and keep going straight. The road you’re on will become Gulf Drive, and you just keep going to Holmes Beach.
Once you’re in Holmes Beach, there are ample parking options, making it convenient for you to explore the area at your own pace.
